RAY SCHULTZ-Editorial Director
Ray Schultz is editorial director of the Chief Marketer Network at Penton Business Media. He is responsible for Chief Marketer, Direct, Multichannel Merchant and PROMO. A veteran marketing journalist, he is the former editorial director of 1to1 magazine, helping to launch that title in 1999. He has also served as editor of two direct marketing publications – Direct and DM News. Ray has created numerous online products, including the MarketingROI newsletter. Prior to covering the marketing beat, he wrote for the New York Times Sunday Magazine National Lampoon and other publications.

BETH NEGUS VIVEIROS-Executive Editor
Beth Negus Viveiros is the Web Editor of the Chief Marketer Network. She also writes the column "Pushing the Envelope" for Direct magazine, and has served in a number of roles on Direct, including executive editor, managing editor and senior writer. A graduate of University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth, Beth is the former editor of 1to1 magazine and a former associate editor with DM News. She began her career as a reporter for the Warren Times-Gazette in Rhode Island. Other writing/editing credits include Insurance Conference Planner, ToyFare, Laundry News, Medical Meetings, Dasoku, Corporate Meetings & Incentives, the Sakonnet Times and the Bristol Phoenix. She has given presentations at events for several marketing industry groups, including the DM Club of New York and the New England Direct Marketing Association. Beth resides and works in the Boston area.

LARRY RIGGS-Senior Editor
Senior Editor Larry Riggs has been covering the direct marketing industry for 15 years. He was managing editor of DM News for nearly eight years and helped bring it from a bi-monthly to a weekly. He joined DIRECT in 1995. His regular beats include business-to-business and the postal service, but he covers all aspects of direct marketing. A business reporter for more than 20 years, he has written about everything from the music and radio broadcasting businesses to discount retailing and industrial sales and marketing. A 1980 graduate of S.U.N.Y.@ Stony Brook, he is fluent in French and spent a semester in Paris. His French fluency was an asset in the early 1990s when many American direct marketers began expanding into Europe.

RICHARD LEVEY-Senior Writer
Senior writer Richard H. Levey has been a member of DIRECT's editorial
staff since April 1997. His beats include database marketing, customer
relationship management and return on investment and analytics
disciplines. He also coordinates the marketing group's industry
benchmarking research surveys. Before joining DIRECT, Richard was a market
research project director at Simmons Market Research Bureau, a copy
editor and paste-up man at Petroleum Intelligence Weekly, and a
circulation analyst at Brant Art Publications. Aside from his writing
duties at DIRECT, Richard has written two supplemental education book for
children, and has privately published a biennial guide to Congressional
foibles. He graduated from Emory University with a B.A. in history and
English in 1989.

BRIAN QUINTON-Senior Editor
Senior editor Brian Quinton joined DIRECT’s editorial staff in September 2004 and now covers all aspects of e-commerce and online marketing, including e-mail campaigns, search engine marketing, Internet retailing and interactive advertising. Before coming to DIRECT, Brian wrote for five years about IP networks and telecommunications for a sister Primedia publication, Telephony, and served as editor-in-chief of Upstart magazine, covering networking start-up companies. He has worked in trade journalism for 20 years, has served as a business writer/ editor for companies such as Lucent Technologies, Ericsson, and Verizon, and has freelanced for publications on corporate law, health/medicine and computing. Brian attended Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism and holds degrees from New York University and Colgate University. He is based in Chicago, where he puts up with the icy winters in order to enjoy the killer summers.
