Several companies are reportedly in discussions with GET Interactive to introduce technology for direct response product placement promotions, which would be distributed as video content via the Internet and handheld communications devices.

Such technology would allow consumers to identify, chose and order products from video content on Web pages or mobile devices such cell phones. It would enable consumers to either make purchases while viewing videos or download coupons redeemable at stores.

The company reported it has been engaged in discussions with such firms as Interscope, Geffen and A&M Records. It anticipates making announcements concerning new business partnerships in the second quarter.

"Our new mobile shopping application creates a direct one-to-one interaction between consumers, brands and mobile video on a level that has never been achieved before," said in a statement Frederick Harris, CEO and founder of GET Interactive.
