Pitney Bowes has acquired the Canadian direct marketing company Bluetree. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Toronto-based Bluetree, which has been in business since 1996, offers lead generation and brand-building opportunities through marketing portals designed to manage the development of Web-to-print workflow and mailings, personalized URLs for individual direct mail pieces, integrated customer relationship management and data analytics.

The move comes shortly before Canada is set to establish a do-not-call list. Pitney Bowes plans to use Bluetree to capitalize on an anticipated turn, among Canadian marketers, to non-telemarketing channels.
