Special Ops Media (SOM), an Internet media agency based in New York, has been acquired by the global marketing and technology agency LBI International AB of Stockholm, Sweden. Terms have not been disclosed.

SOM offers online strategy, media planning, buying and creative services, including search engine and mobile marketing, advertising in computer games and social networking marketing, among other services. It has 64 employees.

SOM has worked with such clients as Citigroup, Coca-Cola Co., Hachette Filapacchi, Harper Collins, Scholastic, Dell Computer, MTV, Paramount, Universal Music Group, Columbia Records, EA Games, Atari and Proximo Spirits.

The acquisition is part of  LBi’s plan for expansion in the U.S. “Special Ops has unique skills in innovative social network marketing,” said in a statement Luke Taylor CEO of the LBi. “We plan to leverage this capacity across our global footprint.”

LBi maintains offices in several cities in the European Union and an office in Mumbai, India; in addition to two offices in New York and one in Atlanta. It has nearly 1,500 employees.
