Revenue, Income Up For Salesforce.com
CRM services and data management firm Salesforce.com generated $263.1 million in revenue during its second quarter, a jump from the $176.6 million it realized in second quarter 2007. The company’s net income rose from $3.7 million a year ago to $10 million during the same interval. The quarter ended July 31.
Within its divisions, the company’s subscription and support revenues were $239.7 million, up from $160 million in second-quarter 2007. Professional services and other revenues were $23.4 million, compared with $16.6 million a year ago..
During the quarter net paying customers rose approximately by 4,100, a company record, to approximately 47,700. Compared with the year ago quarter, net paying customers grew by approximately 12,400.
“Our largest customers are increasingly becoming the best examples of what is possible using the power of our growing portfolio of software as a service applications and our emerging platform as a service," said chairman and CEO Marc Benioff in a statement.
