Oregon to Enforce Do-Not-Call Registry: Report

The Oregon Senate has passed legislation that would eliminate a split between its laws and the federal do-not-call list, according to the Associated Press. As a result, the state will begin enforcing the federal do-not-call list. Oregon had not put teeth behind the law since Oct. 1 2003, when the state program was pre-empted by federal legislation.

According to the AP, federal monitors received 15,000 complaints relating to the list in 2006, up from 5,500 in 2004. Oregon residents have put nearly 1.7 million numbers on the federal list, the AP said
