ExactTarget Publishes SMS Marketing Guide

ExactTarget is releasing ExactTarget’s Field Guide to SMS to educate marketers on the best ways to use SMS text messaging, the e-mail service provider has announced.

The guide breaks down the numerous uses of commercial SMS into three groups including alerts, updates and marketing messages, the company said in a release. It highlights 15 business scenarios ranging from account activity and fraud alerts to confirmations and appointment reminders, the company said.

According to ExactTarget, the guide includes real-life scenarios depicting situations that could warrant the use of an SMS message, a detailed explanation of each SMS type and how it works, the benefits of using each type of SMS communication, external data commonly used to drive relevant SMS messages, and the business environments where each type of SMS messages are typically found
