ExactTarget Debuts ‘List Growth Advisor’

E-mail service provider ExactTarget unveiled a List Growth Advisor tool today that automatically offers personalized recommendations on how to grow an e-mail list after users answer a series of questions.

"We identified the most effective ways to grow permission-based email lists, and now we`re harnessing that data to power personalized recommendations for marketers around the globe," said Morgan Stewart, ExactTarget`s director of research and strategy, in a statement. "When marketers enter details about their program and current list growth tactics, the ExactTarget Email List Growth Advisor compares the information to industry-specific best practices and makes recommendations based on our research."

Essentially, the tool identifies what the marketer isn’t doing and advises them to do it.

In a test of the tool where list size was pegged at between 500,000 and 1 million, the List Growth Advisor recommended tracking e-mail-name sources more frequently.

The List Growth Advisor is a lead-generation tool for ExactTarget so users must provide their contact information in order to get the automated recommendations.
