E-mail marketing software provider L-Soft took the wraps off its newest version of list-management software yesterday.

Dubbed Listserv 15.0, the software now has a more modern, easier-to-use Web interface, according to the company’s president Eric Thomas.

“Listserv use to be known for its spot-on Web interface,” he said. “We had a whole team look at usability and design a fresh new interface from the ground up. We believe we have the best Web interface in the industry now. That’s the main improvement.”

For example, the interface allows users to set it according to their expertise, he said.

Thomas estimates that between 3,000 and 4,000 companies use Listserv, most of which are on a maintenance plan that will involve getting the updated version at no extra charge.

The software also has other features, such as rate limiting, or throttling, according to Thomas.

According to L-Soft, its products send about 30 million messages a day. As of this year, Listserv is 20 years old, according to L-Soft.
