Coremetrics has acquired IBM's SurfAid Analytics business for undisclosed terms. San Mateo, CA-based Coremetrics plans to integrate both firms' Web site analytical services offerings for multi-channel marketing.

"We are merging two of the Web analytics industry's most successful and tenured firms," said in a statement John Payne, executive and co-founder of SurfAid Analytics.

Both firms already shared joint e-commerce clients.
