Henry Schein Acquires Ash Temple

Henry Schein, Inc. a provider of healthcare products and services to office-based practitioners in North America and Europe, has acquired the dental distribution business of Ash Temple Ltd. Ash Temple is a dental distributor based in Concord, ONT. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Ash Temple generated $100 million in revenue during its last fiscal year. Its operations will be combined with Henry Schein Arcona, the company’s Canadian dental business. The resultant entity will be called Henry Schein Ash Arcona. The acquisition will effectively double Henry Schein’s 100-person sales force.

Michael, Hart, Ash Temple’s chairman and CEO, will serve as chairman of the new entity, and Cy Elborne, the firm’s current president and COO, will be its executive vice president of sales.

Henry Schein, Melville, NY, distributes its products through a variety of channels, including its sales force and Aruba, its online sales tool.
