Deutsche Post Increase Holdings in DHL: Reports

Deutsche Post will increase its holding in DHL International Ltd. from 50.6% to 75.6%, according to wire service reports.

Deutsche Post will pay roughly $595 million for the 25% stake held by Lufthansa, a German airline. Deutsche Post has announced its intentions to purchase the remaining 24.4%, reports said. Most of those shares are held by various investment funds, with 2% owned by Japan Airlines.

DHL International owns a 25% of DHL Airways, a Redwood, CA-based carrier that handles U.S. deliveries.
