Travelers Insurance Covers Identity Theft

Travelers has begun covering policyholders against identity fraud. The Hartford, CT, insurer has added protection against expenses resulting from the crime of identify theft to its homeowners policy.

According to the U.S. Treasury's Financial Crimes Enforcement Network, there has been a 50% rise in identity theft between April 2000 and April 2001.
