Small Firms See Advertising Impact From Postal Hike: Poll
A slightly higher number of small business executives think this year’s postage hike will affect their advertising expenditures this year than those who don’t, according to an InfoGroup survey.
In May, the U.S. Postal Service announced a 2.9% increase in standard mail rates to take effect in May. This was the first increase under postal reform legislation signed into law in late 2006 (Direct Newsline, Feb. 13)
In the poll, 43 % (451 respondents) said the postage hike would affect advertising.
But 36% (372 respondents) said the hike it would not affect advertising.
Twenty-one percent (214 respondents) said the increase does not apply to their advertising spending plans.
The poll surveyed 1,037 small businesses by e-mail nationwide on June 30
