Systemax Acquires CompUSA

Systemax Inc., parent of cataloger TigerDirect, will acquire CompUSA Inc. for an undisclosed sum.

Under the agreement, Systemax will purchase the CompUSA e-commerce business, brand, trademarks and as many as 16 retail outlets.

Until the agreement is completed, CompUSA's Web site (www.compusa.com) and retail operations will continue to operate under the CompUSA name.

The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter.
