Staples Launches New Web Site Aimed at Businesses
Staples, the office supplies giant, has launched a new commercial Web site StaplesAdvantage.com (www.staplesadvantage.com) aimed specifically at business customers.
According to Marci Grebstein, vice president b-to-b marketing and e-commerce at Staples, these include companies range from small businesses to the Fortune 1000, in markets such as education, healthcare and pharmaceutical, and state and federal government.
“When most people think Staples, they think our retail stores and the Staples.com e-commerce site – not Staples’ business-to-business efforts,” she said. “Historically, our efforts in this area have been out of the public view and, in a few cases, unclear to our existing customers. For example, if one of our business-to-business customers makes a purchase on Staples.com today they’d be missing out on the preferred pricing they would have received on our dedicated e-procurement site for our Staples Advantage customers.”
The Framingham, MA firm said it did not expect the new Web site to create conflicts with any of its retail or other direct marketing channels.
Grebstein noted that Staples would launch other unspecified marketing campaigns to promote the new site.
In addition to offering products, the site allows visitors to download case studies, view videos, access interactive product galleries and browse online catalogs.
