IN THE NEWS
--Susan Rappaport Named American List Counsel CEO
By Larry Riggs
American List Counsel has named Susan Rappaport as its new president/chief executive officer. She moves up from chief operating officer.
She replaces her husband Donn Rappaport, who became the first CEO at Zumbox, a Web-based postal system that formed a partnership with data marketing service provider ALC. Click for more directmag.com/news/alc-zumbox-partnership-0610/index.html.
Donn Rappaport will continue as chairman of ALC.
Before joining ALC, Susan Rappaport headed up Direct Media’s West Coast operation between 1987 and 1996. Prior to that, she had been director of catalog marketing at Eddie Bauer and prior to that had been a product manager at Clorox.
“We’re very excited about our opportunities in our core spaces but we’ve made an investment into a digital execution and strategy firm called Empathy Lab,” she said.
She stressed ALC plans to remain private.
In addition, she said she plans no substantive changes to ALC.
“We’ve been evolving our business over the last couple of years into a multichannel environment and I think that’s where we have to be,” she said.
